KYOTO STEAM—International Arts × Science Festival: 2022 Prologue, which was held between Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 28, 2021, has now come to an end. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many visitors, artists who presented their artworks, and scientists and others who supported and helped with the festival.
We will continue to develop each program with the aim of presenting the advanced integration of art, and science and technology to visitors at the upcoming edition of KYOTO STEAM—International Arts × Science Festival planned for 2022. A video of the “Sensing the Feelings of a Chimpanzee Through Art” talk is now available online with English subtitles. The talk features highlights from the interactive video experiment conducted in 2019, presentations of the results of data analyses by the participating researchers, a conversation between the artist and scientists, and general comments by Watanabe Shigeru. Open Call for Artist Proposals
The KYOTO STEAM 2022 International Art Competition takes place as part of the main program of the upcoming second edition of KYOTO STEAM—International Arts × Science Festival in 2022.
We welcome proposals from artists who wish to participate in this competition where projects are produced in partnership with corporations and research institutes.
We invite applications from a wide range of artists eager to present globally new works of art created through interdisciplinary collaborations with corporations and research institutes.
