As Dumb Type’s first new work in 18 years, the performance 2020 has attracted much attention and interest both inside and outside Japan, and will now be on screen. It was scheduled to be staged in March 2020 as part of KYOTO STEAM – International Arts x Science Festival 2020, but had to be cancelled due to the spread of COVID-19. And we are now presenting the much-awaited screening of the filmed and edited performance without any audience. This work was created after repeated observation and exploration about various phenomena that we face in our contemporary society and it will sure to lead us to deeper thoughts as we find ourselves amid this great turning point in history.
